How long is a Term?

A term is generally 9 to 11 weeks. Our classes follow the four school terms.

What does a class consist of?

Eastern Suburbs Early Childhood Gymnastic environment is setup to encourage children to climb, slide, balance, jump, crawl, hang, swing, throw and experience their world at their own pace in a non-sexist, non-competitive atmosphere.

Are the coaches qualified?

Our PlayGym program is run and overseen by Natalija Matas-Stankovic. Natalija is qualified and experienced in pre-school and school-age gymnastic education and training. All our coaches are experienced and wonderful with young children.

What do they wear?

Shorts and T-shirt are fine, or a leotard. Clothing should not be too baggy. It is important that if a child falls the coach or caregiver can catch them and not their clothes! No shoes are worn for gymnastics. Long hair should be tied up at all times. Any jewelry should be removed

How long are the classes?

Each class is 45 minutes long. Currently we run classes on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, see the timetable below.

How is the parent or caregiver involved?

Parent’s participation is compulsory and essential. Each child's caregiver is involved in the activity circuits with their child. It’s a little work-out for Mum or Nana too!

Do boys and girls work together in groups?

Boys and girls work together for the whole session.

What does a term of early childhood gymnastics cost?

The cost per term is $110.00 ($125 for Playgym Plus), paid in advance. This is for a 45 minute session, on the same day each week.

Can the children do a make up session if they miss one?

Unfortunately, due to the volume of children in the program, we cannot offer make up sessions. We plan the class numbers carefully and try to adhere to them for everyone’s benefit
